Fleet Feet Sports Baltimore carries quite a few insoles to help support your foot and align your body. We carry a full line of Superfeet Insoles.
Insoles are like mattresses. A good mattress is made of firm, supportive materials. A bad mattress is soft and unsupportive. Same thing with insoles. When you stand on a Superfeet Premium Insole, you can feel the firmly supportive shape and materials. It's not soft and mushy like other brands…because although soft non-supportive insoles feel good when you first put them in your shoes, in the long run your foot problems don't disappear. Superfeet's firm, contoured shape provides comfort soft insoles cannot achieve.
Wearing soft insoles is like running in the soft, dry sand at the beach. Initially it feels good, but you quickly grow tired, waste energy, and begin to feel the stress on your knees and back. Wearing Superfeet Premium insoles is like running on firmer, wet sand. It's still comfortable, but your feet feel more balanced and stable, and it's certainly more productive and enjoyable from a performance point of view.
Superfeet Q & A
Question: Do Superfeet Insoles help Plantar Fasciitis?
A: Yes, in most, but not all cases. The Superfeet Insoles will help hold the rearfoot close to a neutral position. The neutral position will allow for better bone and muscle alignment. This will help reduce some of the stress on the plantar fascia ligament.
Question: My Green insoles are squeaking, what can I do to eliminate this squeak?
A: If the Superfeet insoles are new and make a squeaking sound, there could be a number of causes. Give the product two weeks to mold to your feet and settle into the shoe. The sound generally dissipates. If after this time the squeak is still there, apply some baby powder inside the shoes under the insoles and apply some baby powder on the bottom of the plastic Superfeet cap. You can also try the insoles in different shoes to see if this squeak goes away. Check to make sure that the product is not trimmed too long for the shoe's internal length. Jamming the insole in the shoe can create problems with fit and function.
Question: Why does the arch hit so far back?
A: When you first try on the Superfeet product you may feel like the arch is too far back. This is not uncommon and it can be a positive feedback from the product. All Superfeet products are primarily designed for feet that over-pronate. If you feel like the arch is too far back, the product is actually telling you that it's trying to support you rear foot (heel bone) so the foot doesn't have the ability to collapse. As you go through the break-in period with the product, it may take 10 minutes to 2 weeks for the feeling of the high spot support to dissipate.
