Let's Get Ready for Winter Running/Walking/Exercising!

Fall is officially here with winter quickly on its way! For those who have been avoiding the summer heat indoors can now take those treadmill runs outside and enjoy the cooler, crisp air. Some of us may still experience what's left of the summer heat, but the days are getting darker and cooler and very soon COLDER. Let us help prepare you with all the winter running necessities.

LIGHT UP THE NIGHT

We cannot stress enough how important it is to be visible during your early evening runs. The days are getting shorter and visibility decreases dramatically after the sun has set. Even if there is a bit of light left in the sky, it's important to wear points of light or reflectivity all over. For as little as $10, you can grab a little Nathan Strobe light to clip on to just about anything. Check out our other reflective and visibility gear in store: Nathan Bandolier Vest (360o Reflectivity, 1200ft Visibility, lightweight, vented mesh with zippered small pocket, and it's Ragnar Approved - That's awesome), Amphipod Micro-Light Flashing Reflective LED Band (Bright, flashing LED's, fits arm & ankle, end to end Reflectivity, stretch Fit Design), Both Nathan Zephyr Fire 100 and 300 Runner's Flashlight (4 modes, weather resistant, 104 meter beam distance, emergency siren, up to 12+ hours burn time, USB chargeable), Nathan Orion Strobe (4 modes, 2400ft LED Visibility, 20m Beam distance, adjustable belt, weather resistant, up to 6+ hours burn time),  Amphipod Xinglet Pocket (Front Zippered Pocket, 360Reflectivity, adjustable, front access Swift clip quick release), and the Nathan Lightbender (Weather Resistant, 2400 ft. It's imperative to be properly fueled before, during and after your run. Below are just a few of our favorites with some flavors for the season. Who says you can't eat cookies and be healthy? Skratch cookie mix is easy to use as well as being a great alternative to prepackaged energy bars. If you need more permission to eat a cookie, check out their blog. Skratch drink mixes are great to refuel during a workout and are flavored with only real fruit and contain no artificial colors or preservatives. Try the Matcha Green Tea w/Lemons, Oranges, Pineapples, Raspberries and Lemon + Lime. Honey Stinger Organic Waffles are another sweet treat not to be missed. And if you're looking for seasonal flavors of gel packets, check out Maple Bacon & Salted Caramel from GU and Cafe Mocha and Apples & Cinnamon from Huma Gel.
